Dear Parents,
School years are time for growth, challenge and discovery. At St.Peter’s we encourage and prepare students to participate fully, to take risks to be self-advocated, independent and to create lasting memories and relationship with peers and staff.
We value every individual in our care and determined to provide the best possible all round development in the most healthy environment in which our students can progress and succeed to face the ever-changing world of today.
St.Peter’s firmly believes that the only was a school can grow – i.e when there is team work – complete co-operation between the Management, Parents and teachers as all play a very vital role in helping students reach their greatest potential.
Administrators and teachers everywhere recognize the important contributions parents make towards a child’s growth and success in school. There is no doubt about it – success at school begins at home. Parents are actually a child’s first teacher, which no teacher can replace. They are the most important variable in a child’s schooling. We at St.Peter’s, Mumbai are indeed blessed to have an excellent and carrying parent body.
One of the most important components of a good school is the partnership between the school and parents who work together for the best interest of children. The close partnership between home and school is one of the exceptional strength at St.Peter’s.
The heart of any school begins and ends with the people who enter it everyday, from the staff, to the students and finally, their families. As principal, I am continually working to build a community where each and every one and those people, when asked where they work or attend school will respond with a sense of intense pride in stating “ST.PETER’S”, Mumbai.
Our motto – “ESSE QUAM VIDERI” which means “To Be Rather Than To Seem” provides the fabric with which the tapestry of our students’ experience unfolds. The school though well established still maintains the original intention of the Founders of the school very much at the forefront of its responsibilities, namely that the school was founded primarily for the “European and Eurasian parishioners of the Church of St.Peter’s ” and it continues to offer education of a sort suitable for the minority, in many cases at concessional rates, not only to members of the Anglo-Indian community (which has the constitutional right to administer schools of its own.), but also members of all communities without regard to community, caste or creed.
In St.Peter’s we are not concerned merely with accumulation of knowledge, or the reading of a set number of books or the passing of an examination, but with the integration and training of a personality into a character – and not merely good individual character. Our aim is to build those characters into a living community. Thus the vision – “St.Peter’s School strives for academic excellence and an all round development of students through character building inculcating core values of ethics, patriotism, love, compassion and respect for all” is the very essence of education at St.Peter’s.
St.Peter’s is very fortunate to have a very dedicated Board of Governors, highly talented and committed teaching staff and a very loving and caring support to ensure the learning environment of our students is the best it can be.
I call this school – “The family of St.Peter’s” and look forward to working with you and your children. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time : St.Peter’s depend on you for its continual success.
The School motto is ESSE QUAM VIDERI which means to be Rather than to Seem.
